Halloween in Disney
As you may have read in our “Plans for our Disney World Trip” or “2016 a Year in Review” posts, late October is our favorite time to go to Disney World and in 2016 we had the opportunity of doing so for a second time.
Here are some photos from our trip! For a more detailed itinerary of our trip, click here.
Main Street USA in all it’s Halloween glory.
Magic Kingdom before Halloween–it’s hard to choose between spending a day in Magic Kingdom with all of the Halloween decorations or spending the day at Epcot during Food and Wine Festival.
Hanging out in Fantasyland (my favorite area of Magic Kingdom.)
One of the amazing holiday pins I had to pick up.
Our second day in Disney–we went to see the new night show at Hollywood Studios–“Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular.”
Ries, dressed as Nick Wilde from Zootopia, and his mom, Polli, dressed as a dalmatian from 101 Dalmatians, for “Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party” on Halloween! (Not pictured: Me, dressed as Judy Hopps from Zootopia.)
On top of getting tickets to “Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party” on Halloween, we also managed to get reservations to Cinderella’s Royal Table. (Our reservation did cut into our time at the party, so while I would enthusiastically advise everyone to go to both the party and Cinderella’s Royal Table on separate days, I don’t know that I would combine the two in the future. There’s just so much to do at the Halloween party, you don’t want to miss any of it!)
Waiting for the “Hocus Pocus Villain Spooktacular” to begin. It was AMAZING–definitely my favorite part of the night…though I do love the parade.
The start of “Mickey’s Boo to You Halloween Parade.”
The Evil Queen at the tail of the parade. She was giving me the stare down.
A few of my favorite things at the Japan Pavilion in Epcot. I collect a Kimmidoll for every big trip in Disney. (Okay, okay, and a few smaller trips.)
One of these days, I’m getting a real kimono. Or convincing Ries to move to Japan.
This cat chime was my favorite. I really regret not buying it that day because it was gone the next day we went to Epcot!
Cinderella’s pink dress during the “Festival of Fantasy”–the BEST PARADE EVER. (Okay, it’s tied with the Halloween parade. And maybe the Christmas parade because everyone wears their fancy winter dresses.)
The steampunk inspired Malificent dragon in the “Festival of Fantasy” parade, another one of my favorite features.
Ries and I with Daisy Duck on our last day in Disney World.
When are we going back?
Well, given the impending baby, and planned travel to South Carolina, Indiana, and potentially Oregon before Baby A arrives, we aren’t planning to go back to Disney until…October 2017. Which, for us, is a long time. We got spoiled living in Georgia and being able to drive to Orlando for a long weekend, so I don’t think we’ve ever actually waited a full year between trips since my first trip in October 2014. But never fear, friends, I’m keeping an eye on flights to Orlando and room discounts between now and then. And I mean, if my water broke in Magic Kingdom, it wouldn’t be the worst thing….
